parisian fashion trends for 2018

Given that we were recently in Paris for Coterie we thought it would only be fitting to share the current Parisian Fashion Trends for 2018.

Coterie is a premiere global event that connects fashion apparel labels with International buyers. It was such an amazing and busy time for James Smith but we are so grateful for the international response to our slides!

Back to the ladies of Paris and their attire…

Pastels are taking over

From oversized jackets to shoes and accessories. Pastel hues are making a comeback on the streets of Paris. Soft feminine details are accentuated with a pastel palette so this trend is all about highlighting your inner Britney circa “Hit Me Baby”.

Make the most of this trend with our Off Duty Slides in Ballet available here.

Vinyl

If pastels just really aren’t your thing and you’re more about the “Toxic” era then the Vinyl trend is for you. Think shiny and slightly dominatrix vibes. Motorcycle jackets in vinyl or embellished pants are flooding the streets of Paris.

Stay tuned to our Instagram @jamesmith_thelabel for some exciting shiny new styles coming soon!

Purple Haze

Realisation Par were quick to jump on the purple bandwagon with their popular Valentina Dress. From soft purple silk to tailored jackets, the key is to stick to a light purple such as lilac or lavender.

Mini heels with an 80’s twist

It’s no secret that the 90’s have become the norm for outfit inspiration since early 2017. The Parisian girls are moving onto 80’s influenced threads. Think power suits and bright colours, hair scrunchies and silk neck scarfs.

We’ve just released our Café Society enclosed slides in black suede and they tie in so perfectly with this trend. The Café Society Slides feature an enclosed toe to carry you through the colder months with a smaller heel for comfort.

You can shop the Café Society Mules here. Also available in café suede.
